July 24: Let's Choose Gentleness

Dear families,

It's been a hot week, so let's make popsicles together! Join us in-person or on-demand to learn about the fruit of the Spirit of gentleness through the story of Jesus and the little children from Mark 10.

In case you've missed it, friends from our church family are organizing fun events all summer — from playground meetups and prayer groups to Sunday lunches and sunset hangs. Hope to see you and your family at one soon!

With love,
Miss Elisa

Orange Cream Popsicles

Recipe credit: Martha Stewart

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup thawed orange juice concentrate

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 2 cups full-fat plain yogurt

  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Method:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine juice concentrate and sugar over medium-low. Cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved, 3 minutes.

  2. Stir in yogurt and vanilla. Transfer to a large liquid-measuring cup, pour into ten 3-ounce ice-pop molds, and insert ice-pop sticks. Freeze until pops are solid, about 6 hours (or up to 1 week). Briefly run molds under hot water to release pops.

  3. You can also make these creamsicle-inspired pops in small disposable paper cups; simply peel away the paper to unmold.

  4. Another recipe idea: red white and blue pops (with strawberries, lime, and blueberries), which can be modified for “sunset pops” (with strawberries, mango, and lemon).
