Please join us for The Seconds Course, an original nine-week series on living as a follower of Jesus once you believe. Each week is designed to be a highly interactive discussion and practice-based journey that a follower of Jesus can join in to grow as a Christian.

The Story Behind Seconds

We created The Seconds Course inspired by our experience running Alpha since 2015. Alpha is a series of conversations about the meaning of life and the possibility of faith, run in local communities around the world to freely explore the basics of the Christian faith.

Our course is based on the same principles of hospitality, friendly connection, honest discussion, and community growth that has made the Alpha course so valuable and welcoming to millions of people since 1990.

The course content is intended to be a follow-up to Alpha: helping followers of Jesus to take a next, deeper step into your faith.

What to Expect

Each in-person session will include a time to share a meal and informal chat together, a short presentation on a crucial aspect of following Jesus, and an open discussion where nothing is off-limits. We also introduce some basic practices and practical resources that followers of Jesus have used for generations.

Group discussion is often broken into smaller groups to allow more space for everyone to share. We invite you to say what you think and listen respectfully to other people's points of view.

Please bring a notebook, pen, Bible, and dinner to each session. Directions and other details will be shared once you register to attend.

Who is Seconds for?

If you are a new follower of Jesus, someone who wants to go back to the essentials of faith, or a long time believer seeking renewed spiritual growth... this course is for you.

Alpha is not a prerequisite to participate in The Seconds Course, but we highly recommend you participate in Alpha first if you are new to faith.
