Take a Deep Breath
For many of us, this summer represents a much needed time of rest and renewal after a deeply challenging year. We know some will have long deferred travel plans to reconnect with loved ones. For this reason, our weekly worship gatherings will be online throughout most of the summer so you can participate from anywhere. We encourage you to gather with friends to watch the broadcast together if you can.
Our leaders have had a vision of a summer of “small fires,” where God’s presence is experienced in a series of smaller gatherings. Our hope is that our hearts will be warmed around these small fires which will come together as we regather as a church family in the fall. Our groups are certainly examples of small fires as are the following opportunities we hope you will engage this summer.
Worship Nights
July 11 / July 23 / August 8 / August 22 — Park Slope Community Church (251 12th Street)
These evenings will be extended times of worship and prayer where we can enjoy the presence of God together and encourage one another.
Children’s programming will be provided in the gym.
Park Hangs
June 27 / July 4 / July 18 / August 1 / August 15 — 3pm — Prospect Park
Join us for informal social gatherings in the park on several Sunday afternoons throughout the summer. These unhurried times together are great for meeting new friends and deepening relationships.
All are welcome; this is a great space for kids of all ages to play together. We hope to see you there!
Staytreat
August 27–29 — Locations around NYC
We are planning a special weekend to reconnect as a church family. This will be a time to encounter God, to have fun and share meals, and to rebuild our collective identity as a people as we emerge from this time. There will be kids programming and the event is free to all.
Whether you’ve been part of our community for years or you’re brand new, we would love to have you! For those who are unable to attend in person, we intend to livestream some of the sessions as well.
