Prayer gathering
Tuesday, June 2 (5:40pm ET)
Clever Blend (97 5th Avenue at Park Place)
We are joining with many other churches to walk the streets of Brooklyn and pray this evening. You are welcome to join with us. There has been a time change to 6pm in order respect the curfew in place tonight. We will meeting at 5:40pm ET at 97 5th Avenue, on the northeast corner of 5th Avenue and Park Place (in front of Clever Blend) if you are able to join.
We feel this is a significant moment in our city and nation that requires prayer, solidarity with our black and brown neighbors, and immense love. Love may mean joining the group tonight or it may mean staying home for some. We recognize that we still are in the middle of a pandemic and each person and family should carefully weigh the risks. Those with greater risk factors for COVID-19 or anyone experiencing symptoms should remain home. To those who are joining us we ask that you wear a mask and be aware of social distancing.
You can find more details and a statement from the organizers below.
“In recent weeks, we have seen several tragedies that are not new in our country's scene. The deaths of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, along with the attempted weaponization of the police towards Christian Cooper. As the Church, we are standing in solidarity with our brothers and sisters, seeking reform in our system, and praying for justice to come quickly. Join us as we pray, march, and act together.” —Organizers of #PrayMarchAct
