Wednesday April 8 — Informal gatherings around Brooklyn

Passover is when the Jewish people — and all the people of God — remember the exodus from Egypt, and how God rescued the Israelites.  As followers of Jesus, Passover is also a time when we remember the Last Supper, and how Jesus is our Passover Lamb, leading us out of slavery to sin and into freedom.

Our Passover Seder is traditional with add-ins where Jesus fulfilled the promises. We follow a table liturgy and everyone can participate, so come and learn with us. Join us for an informal potluck meal and table liturgy in homes around Brooklyn. Children are welcome to attend.

Interested in hosting a Passover Seder meal? We invite you to open your home to share a potluck meal with your friends, family, or life group and participate. Please use this form to let us know you’re hosting so we can include your home in the list of available dinners.

Here are a few steps of preparation that will help facilitate the experience.

  1. Sign-up to Host
    Let us know so we can include your home in the list of available dinners.

  2. Invite your Friends
    Share your group page and make sure your friends know the time and location of your gathering.

  3. Prepare your Space
    Prepare your space for the gathering.

    • Prepare a meal or ask your friends to bring a potluck item.

    • Setup background worship music to play during dinner.

what to bring

Please plan to bring a main dish, side, or dessert to share. We will be following Seder tradition and following a Kosher menu. This means the food should not include pork, shellfish, or wheat (other than use of matzah or matzah meal). Here are some suggestions:

  • vegetable dishes (without flour)

  • rice dishes

  • hummus/tortilla chips (no pita or crackers)

  • matzah ball soup

  • salad

  • potato dishes

  • fruit

  • chocolate

  • macaroons
