Chelsea MC meets every Monday, for worship, prayer, lifegroups and service projects. Our desire is to see God’s love and restoration come to the neighborhood of Chelsea. See below for our meeting schedule.

The Chelsea MC gatherings are held at St. Paul’s, located at 315 W. 22nd St. in between 8th & 9th Aves.

8/30 – MC Gathering, Discussion about Islam

This Monday at MC we are privileged to welcome our friend and fellow TGC-er Laura Kasinof to lead a discussion about Islam.

Islam plays such a huge role in the world today and yet most Americans only know about Islam through what they see on the news, which for the most part is completely un-nuanced and out of
context.

Laura’s been blessed with a wide variety of experiences in the Muslim world (and also studied Middle Eastern and Islamic studies at NYU) which enables her, as she says in her own words, “to discuss Islam
from the point of view of a Christian American who has lived, worked and studied (and gone through spiritual struggles) in Muslim-majority countries, and learned tons from the process.”

We’ll talk about the main tenets of Islam; “hot topics” like women, Islam’s view of other religions, jihad; common misconceptions; and current trends; and probably other things too. With Q&A of course.

Note this will NOT be a political discussion about the downtown mosque.
